About Zocuments

Zocuments is building a practical workflow platform for work that starts with documents and ends with a decision, response, or evidence package. The product helps teams ingest records, structure the information inside them, connect related sources, and produce clear outputs without losing the human review that consequential work deserves. We are starting with evidence-heavy operational workflows and are building toward a broader system for document and data automation.

About the role

As a product intern, you will help make the product easier to understand and more useful. You might map a workflow, review examples, write a small research brief, test an interaction, improve product content, or help turn a repeated question into a better experience. You will work with experienced teammates and should expect to learn by making observations concrete, checking assumptions, and shipping small improvements.

Responsibilities

• Observe and document how people complete document-heavy operational tasks.
• Help organize research notes, examples, product questions, and recurring friction into useful patterns.
• Support lightweight usability checks and communicate what is clear, confusing, or missing.
• Contribute to product copy, workflow maps, acceptance criteria, and small improvements to the application.
• Learn the product’s data and privacy boundaries and treat user records with care.
• Share work in progress clearly and incorporate feedback.

Minimum qualifications

• Curiosity about how software changes real work and willingness to investigate before jumping to a solution.
• Strong written communication and attention to detail.
• Ability to organize ambiguous information and explain a pattern simply.
• Comfort learning new tools and working collaboratively in a small team.
• Current enrollment in, or recent completion of, a relevant program or equivalent project experience.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with user research, product writing, design, software, operations, or data work.
• A project, case study, or other example that shows how you think and learn.
• Interest in document workflows, automation, information quality, or responsible AI-assisted tools.

What success could look like

In the first months, success could look like making a confusing part of the product clearer, helping the team see a workflow from a new angle, and building a body of work that shows careful product judgment.
