About Zocuments

Zocuments is building a practical workflow platform for work that starts with documents and ends with a decision, response, or evidence package. The product helps teams ingest records, structure the information inside them, connect related sources, and produce clear outputs without losing the human review that consequential work deserves. We are starting with evidence-heavy operational workflows and are building toward a broader system for document and data automation.

About the role

You will help decide where Zocuments earns the right to go next. That means understanding the work behind a request, separating repeated pain from one-off noise, and giving engineering and design a crisp problem worth solving. You will be close to customers, product behavior, and the details of document workflows—not only a roadmap document. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys making decisions with incomplete information and then learning from what ships.

Responsibilities

• Research document-heavy workflows and turn observations into clear opportunities, hypotheses, and product decisions.
• Define the problem, desired user outcome, scope, and success signals for product work from discovery through release.
• Work closely with engineering and design on interaction models, data boundaries, edge cases, and rollout plans.
• Keep customer language and product behavior connected so the team does not promise more than the system can do.
• Review shipped behavior and decide what to refine, measure, stop, or explore next.
• Build lightweight product rituals that increase clarity without slowing a small team down.

Minimum qualifications

• Experience owning product decisions for software used to complete real work.
• Strong discovery, synthesis, writing, and prioritization skills.
• Comfort discussing technical constraints, data quality, integrations, and operational edge cases with engineers.
• Ability to distinguish a compelling user problem from a feature request and to make scope explicit.
• A grounded, respectful approach to customer research and sensitive business information.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with B2B workflows, operations, finance, support, compliance, or knowledge-management products.
• Experience with document ingestion, extraction, structured data, automation, or review workflows.
• Hands-on experience instrumenting and interpreting product behavior.
• Technical fluency sufficient to prototype, query data, or inspect an API when useful.

What success could look like

In the first months, success could look like making the team more certain about which workflow to solve next, shipping a meaningful improvement, and establishing a repeatable way to learn from the people doing the work.
