AVS and CVV are checks on the card data, not a photo of the cardholder.

What a passing check can show

That whoever placed the order knew the billing address and/or the CVV, or completed an issuer challenge. For 3-D Secure, Stripe may also apply liability shift and auto-attach Electronic Commerce Indicator data. That is processor-supplied evidence. Copy it if the dashboard shows it; do not retype a guess.

What it cannot show

• That the legitimate cardholder was at the keyboard. A stolen card can still match AVS if the thief has the statement address.
• That the goods were as described.
• That a subscription was cancelled.
